PhD thesis successfully defended by Olena Kalashnikova
Olena Kalashnikova M.A. successfully defended her doctoral thesis entitled „Exploring the Fukushima Effect: A Corpus-Based Discourse Analysis of the Algorithmic Public Sphere in Post-3/11 Japan“. The research was funded by FAU’s Emerging Fields Initiative (EFI). Upon receiving a pre-doc scholarship from Volkswagenstiftung (August 2022-April 2023),
Olena is currently employed as a Post-Doc in the DFG-funded research project „Die Normalisierung rechtspopulistischer und neurechter Diskurse in Japan und Deutschland (NormRechts)“, analyzing the influence of pro-Russian propaganda in Germany and Japan.
